Question:

Can 31632 be reported multiple times if multiple biopsies are performed?

Answer:

Code 31632 is used to report transbronchial lung biopsy, each additional lobe, and should not be reported more than once regardless of how many biopsies are performed in the lobe.

31632 Bronchoscopy, rigid or flexible, including fluoroscopic guidance, when performed; with endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) guided transtracheal and/or transbronchial sampling (eg, aspiration[s]/biopsy[ies]), one or two mediastinal and/or hilar lymph node stations or structures
