Laboratory Question for the Week of March 7, 2022

When should we report the new 2022 code 86015?

The CPT® updates for immunology service-related codes for 2022 reflect a move from methodology CPT to analyte-specific CPT. As a general note, understand that the analytes represented by the new 2022 CPT codes may already be included on the laboratory chargemaster. 86015 is an analyte-specific code and may be used to identify testing for antibodies that assist in diagnosing autoimmune liver diseases.
