Question:
Do you have any tips when reporting an injection/aspiration under ultrasound guidance?
Answer:
Choose 20604, 20606, or 20611 if the injection/aspiration is performed under ultrasound guidance. Do not also code 76942 as ultrasound guidance has been valued into these codes. Choose 20600, 20605, or 20610 if fluoroscopic, CT, or MRI guidance was used, and add the appropriate modality-specific guidance code (77002, 77012, 77021) separately.
