What is the difference between the 3D printing Category III codes 0559T and 0661T?
This set of Category III codes (0559T–0562T) represents the 3D printing of anatomic guides and models to assist in surgical planning. Codes 0559T and 0560T describe the 3D printing of anatomic models, which are created to offer a detailed framework of the patient’s anatomy to be used as a reference during surgery. Codes 0561T and 0562T describe the 3D printing of anatomic guides, which precisely fit a patient’s anatomy for use, such as a cutting or drilling guide, during a surgical procedure.
