Diagnostic Radiology Coding Deep Dive: Tackling Modality-Specific Pitfalls

$299.00

Reimbursement is declining, and poor coding practices across all modalities can cost the healthcare industry up to $125 billion annually. Radiology remains a significant sector of medical coding, encompassing high-dollar, high-risk services for errors.

Diagnostic radiology is one of the most complex and compliance-sensitive specialties, governed by nuanced AMA and NCCI guidelines, modality-specific coding rules, and constant system changes. Inappropriate RIS setups, outdated templates, and incorrect CDM mappings can all result in revenue loss, denials, or audit exposure.

Join expert Cathy Huyghe, CPC, for this in-depth, problem-solving session focused on the real-world application of diagnostic radiology coding principles across modalities. Learn how to evaluate your ordering system for compliance, identify high-risk areas in your RIS or CDM, and apply the correct CPT and ICD-10-CM combinations with confidence.

You’ll walk away with practical checklists and tools to:

  • Conduct a systematic review of modality-specific problem areas
    • New head and neck CTA codes
      • How do they affect orders?
      • What potential problems could arise?
    • Ultrasounds read in the ER and Radiology
      • Grey-scale ultrasounds with Dopplers
    • CT with CTA/MRI/MRA
      • What documentation is compliant?
      • NCCI edits
  • Identify and resolve NCCI edits, template flaws, and ordering system errors
  • Master modifier application, from NCCI overrides to laterality rules NCCI modifiers
  • Minimize denials through compliant ordering and coding practices

Why this webcast matters:

December’s Radiology Coding Update webcast covered what changed—this webcast delivers the how to fix it. Technology shifts, system errors, and compliance audits don’t stop with the calendar year. With CMS and private payers tightening scrutiny, this webcast ensures your team not only codes correctly but also understands why errors happen and how to prevent them.

This webcast is included at no additional cost with the purchase of the Diagnostic Radiology All‑Access Pass, giving your team ongoing access to all radiology webcasts, books, and tools for the year.
