Deciphering the intricacies of coding for diagnostic and therapeutic genitourinary procedures can be challenging, given the complexities inherent in these processes. The presence of unclear documentation and subtle distinctions in code descriptions opens the door to potential errors. Questions about bundled codes, simultaneous reporting of multiple codes, distinguishing between unilateral and bilateral procedures, and understanding nuances in stent placements, catheter exchanges, conversions, and replacements often arise. Moreover, differentiating between a stent and catheter in GU codes adds another layer of complexity.
In this comprehensive two-hour session, we will tackle these queries and more. Utilizing illustrations and real-life case examples, we will guide you through procedures, highlighting key phrases in documentation to pinpoint the appropriate CPT codes. This deep dive aims to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to swiftly and accurately select the right codes for genitourinary procedures. Benefit from our expertise, gain confidence, and leave with the resources to make precise code choices in the realm of genitourinary studies.
Note: Before participating in this session, we recommend that you attend our Basics of Interventional Radiology Coding webcast, which covers general IR coding essentials.
