Can 80051 be reported as a subsequent procedure following BMP?

Answer:

Yes. Note that 80051 may also be reported in multiples for repeat procedures or as a subsequent procedure following either the BMP or CMP when it is necessary to follow shifts in the electrolyte balance. Append modifier 91 if documentation supports the medical necessity of repeat procedures.
