Question:

What PLA codes were deleted this past July?

Answer:

Utilized for reporting SARS-CoV-2, PLA codes 0240U and 0241U were deleted effective July 1, 2025, but first appeared as deleted in the 2026 CPT® manual. Code 0240U should be pointed to the existing CPT Category I code 87636, while 0241U should be reported with the existing code 87637. PLA codes 0369U, 0370U, 0373U, and 0374U were also deleted effective July 1, 2025, but first appeared as deleted in the CPT manual for 2026, with no direct single replacements. ABI pressure measurements are obtained, and pneumatic cuffs are applied to the extremities, and blood flow attributes are measured from 1 or 2 level(s) on both extremities. Code 93922 (along with codes 93923 and 93924) is a non-imaging study, and it applies to a limited noninvasive arterial study. When more than 3 levels are measured, code 93923 is reported for a complete study.
