The ICD-10-PCS FY 2022 guidelines represent changes in B3.7 (control versus more definitive root operations); B4.1c (general guidelines for body part); B4.8 (upper and lower intestinal tract); and E1.a and E1.b (general guidelines for new technology).

CMS has included a new PDF file for the ICD-10-PCS Index and code tables, which is being recreated by many coding book publishers. The conversion table is used to map data from FY 2021 to FY 2022 (and the reverse). The Order File is used by code developers. The addenda file is the file that you’ll want to review to see the specific changes in procedure codes for FY 2022.
