Robin Zweifel

A former official with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is among four new members joining the RACmonitor editorial board.

The changes were announced this week by Chuck Buck, publisher of RACmonitor e-news and the executive producer and program host for long-running Monitor Mondays, a weekly Internet radio program that monitors the activities of both commercial and governmental auditing organizations.

“As the government has expanded the scope of its auditing activities by bringing on additional auditors while shifting responsibilities from one auditing agency to another, we determined that we needed to stay in front of the change,” Buck said. “Moreover, as the pace of auditing has quickened, we wanted to get out in front of stories as they were happening – so we have begun publishing RACmonitor e-newsletters on a weekly basis as opposed to bi-weekly, as was the case when the feature debuted in November 2008.”

The expanded editorial board includes the following new contributing editors:

Janelle Ali-Dinar, PhD

Dr. Ali-Dinar is the chief operations officer at MedFirst Partners and a senior rural health expert at Healthcare Solutions Connections. She has more than 10 years of experience in rural health policy, legislation, strategy, and operations, having served on the National Rural Health Association’s national rural congress. Dr. Ali-Dinar is also an NRHA Rural Fellow.

Edward M. Roche, PhD, JD

Mr. Roche is the director of scientific intelligence at Barraclough NY LLC., a firm that provides litigation support and expert testimony for healthcare providers that have been audited. Mr. Roche is writing a series for RACmonitor documenting the auditing abuses by commercial auditors that use faulty statistical analysis.

Stanley Sokolove, CPA

Mr. Sokolove is a former CFO technical compliance monitor for CMS. In that role, he provided oversight of the banking, finance, and internal controls for CMS relating to NHIC, Corp., the durable medical equipment (DME) Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for Jurisdiction A. Prior to holding this position, Mr. Sokolove was an administrative law judge serving as a member of the Provider Reimbursement Review Board in Baltimore. Mr. Sokolove also is a contributor to Monitor Mondays.

Robin Zweifel, BS, MT (ASCP)

Robin Zweifel is a senior vice president of revenue capture services for Panacea Healthcare Solutions Inc. Robin’s areas of expertise include clinical laboratory and chargemaster management, as well as infusion and pharmacy regulatory compliance. She is lead on the development of Panacea’s CDMAuditor’s CDM Coding & Compliance Module and contributes to a number of publications and Web-based products that help providers maintain regulatory compliance while ensuring positive revenue outcomes.
