When he can, he listens to us on Monitor Mondays from an orange-pink, four-story hospital resting up against a verdant tropical hillside. This is the 168-bed, acute-care Roy Lester Schneider Hospital, serving the needs of residents in St. John, St. Croix, and St. Thomas, all part of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
He is Cononiah M. McCarthy, BBA, MPA, the reimbursement RAC analyst for the hospital that also serves the needs of tourists and cruise-line passengers. The Virgin Islands fall within RAC Region C, where Connolly serves as the RAC.
On Oct. 14, McCarthy will be our special guest on Monitor Monday. He is expected to relate a recent site visit from the RACs (tough duty for those contractors). But as they say, “someone has to do it.”
In the meantime, we’re also publishing McCarthy’s letter to the editor in Thursday’s edition of RACmonitor e-news.
